About the Artist

Based in Waipa, Keri Keri, Peter Rewi is an emerging artist. His style is contemporary realism and he paints what resonates with him and his Wairua. His Maori heritage is his guide, connecting with his ancestors in all that he creates.
Painting for Pete is his favourite and creative pastime and his biggest love. It's been a lifelong dream for Pete to live in the country, open his own gallery, turn his passion into his livelihood and begin his art journey.
Artwork Description
Hand-painted with oil on board, this is one of Peter's favourites from his surfing series of surf-related paintings and this is one of his favourites. I love the colour of the waves and as a lover of the sea, these moments are something that sings to the joy of just being a part of the human journey. No good day in and around our oceans is ever forgotten and this painting and the series as a whole hold true to this belief.
