‘SEASON FIVE: MANILA MIRACLE BEACH’ offers a reflection of Medrano’s experiences living in the Philippines at the dawn of adulthood. Having oscillated between provincial life and the urban landscapes of Quezon City, Medrano celebrates the scenes and sensibilities of his home country.
“I had to get my license exchanged today and I saw this pile of pawid (coconut leaves) on the way back. The land transportation office was outdoors, registration being a wooden dining table with the front staff ladies sitting on tree stumps.”
“Urban monotony was something I romanticised and consumed a lot of media around back in Australia, however, The Philippines offers a whole new definition of this concept, almost polar to what I’m used to. In the event of doing something boring like getting my license renewed, I was struck by all these small codes: domesticated roosters, lines of motorcycles parked by office queues, a row of coconut trees that always seemed to border the sky. These were all things I thought needed celebrating artistically. I want to celebrate them the same way we celebrate dimly lit subways, graffiti, rain-wet pavements and streetlights in the West.” Made in NZ with love.

Our default frame is a premium quality moulded Boxed Frame. Locally sourced and made in NZ the boxed frame is a modern & contemporary frame with 20mm mouldings & 30mm depth - available in Natural Oak, Black or White. All framed prints are MDF backed and supplied with hanging fittings ready to hang.
Unframed A4 to A2 sized prints are placed in a clear sleeve with cardboard backer then sent & delivered flat-packed. A1 & A0 unframed prints are sent in a cardboard tube. All Framed prints are carefully wrapped in bubble wrap, branded and placed in a protective cardboard box made to size.
A0 framed prints cannot be shipped nationwide.
All A0 framed prints need to be collected from our local supplier located in Ponsonby, Auckland.
