Jon splits his time between his sound design business and his lifelong passion for photography, a craft he was encouraged to explore by his father, a former RAF photographer.

His career began in photolithography, but soon the allure of New Zealand’s music scene drew him in. He played in bands, then shifted to the technical side as a recording engineer and producer. In the '90s, Jon started composing music and creating sound design for the advertising industry, earning many local and international awards for his work.

In a pivotal moment, Jon faced a significant personal health challenge that led him to rediscover photography, not just as a hobby but as a therapeutic outlet. His practice in capturing the world through his camera became a source of balance and tranquillity. Immersing himself in the art of photography, Jon connects with nature and contemporary life, finding joy and a sense of well-being in every frame he shoots.
